He was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Roy Wilson. He leaves 16 direct living descendants.

O. D. "Joe" Wilson, age 82, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Funeral services for Joe Wilson will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Royce Hart officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Josh Conover, Gary Dale Curry, Paul Dick, Jon Ferguson, Russell Milby, Shane McQueary.

He was born Sunday, September 14, 1930 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Frances Dabney Wilson. He died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

He was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Dabney.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife of 61 years, Faye Roy Wilson

  • Three children: Patricia (Barry) McQueary, Independence, KY; Sherry (Wayne) Barker, Russell Springs, KY; and Barry Rowe Wilson, Russell Springs, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Kelly Ferguson, Shane McQueary, Monica Milby, Jessica Conover, Ashley Curry, and Kimberly Wilson

  • Seven great grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Ross Dabney, Jamestown, KY; Wilbur Dabney, Richmond, KY

  • One sister: Jean Hadley, Jamestown, KY
