Hurlin Gene Woods, Casey County, KY (1946-2013)

He was a native of Casey County, KY, the son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Overstreet Woods. He was retired from the United States Army and National Guard with thirty-seven and half years of service. He was a member of the Hendersonville Pentecostal Church and the Masonic Lodge. His wife, Diane Allen Woods, survives.

Hurlin Gene Woods, passed away Friday June 28, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 67.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Tuesday July 2, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Roger Thaxton officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Monday, July 1, 2013, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Born Monday, April 15, 1946 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Overstreet Woods. He died Friday, June 28, 2013, in Nashville, Davidson County, KY, at the age of 67 years, 2 months, and 13 days.

He was retired from the United States Army and National Guard with thirty-seven and half years of service. He was a member of the Hendersonville Pentecostal Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Allen Woods, of Portland , TN, and the following:
  • Son: Tim Woods of Lexington, KY

  • Two daughters: JoAnn (and Howard) Anderson of Greenbrier, TN and Laura Madden of Gallatin, TN

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Two great-grandchildren

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, RC Woods and Donald Woods.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
