Columbia Police arrest driver after he flees at high speed Columbia Police Department make arrest after pursuit. Police say driver failed to stop when signaled to do so on Jamestown Street, accelerated down Carrie Bolin, bailed out of car and fled on foot before being apprehended in the hallway of an apartment complex. He's been lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. By Ofc. Josh Brockman Report from the Columbia, KY, Police Dept., Jason Cross, Chief On Monday, May 27, 2013, at approximately 5:51pmCT, Ofc. Johnny Dial observed Franklin Thompson, age 31, of Columbia, KY operating a motor vehicle on Jamestown street in a reckless manner. Ofc. Dial attempted to initiate a traffic stop when Thompson accelerated at a high rate of speed and turned down Carrie Bolin Drive, Thompson then bailed out of vehicle where a short foot pursuit ensued. Thompson was apprehended in the hallway of a apartment complex and placed under arrest on charges of Improper Start, No Operators License, Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree (vehicle), Fleeing and Evading Police 2nd Degree(foot), Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, Reckless driving, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (Cocaine) ,Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified) Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
