Loretta Hare, Russell County, KY (1935-2013)

She was native of Russell County, KY and a cosmetologist. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Eva Wilson Popplewell and the widow of Alva Hare. She leaves 14 direct and four step living descendants

Loretta Hare, 78, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her home.

Funeral service for Loretta P. Hare will be 1pmCT, Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY with Greg Ryan officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Russell Springs City Cemetery.



Loretta Hare, Russell County, KY (1935-2013)


She was born Wednesday, April 3, 1935 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Eva Wilson Popplewell. She died Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 1 months, and 13 days.

She was a cosmotologist.

She was preceded inn death by her husband, Alva Hare; a sister, Maxine Bolin; and three brothers, William Attis Popplewell, Joe Finley Popplewell, and Jimmy Dale Popplewell.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two children: Bobby D. (Kylene) Gaskin, Fairland, IN; and Vicki L. (Joseph) Nevins, Indianapolis, IN

  • Four step children: David Hare, Jamestown, KY; Karen White, Mt. Vernon, KY; Danita Riter, Columbia, KY; and Sandra Weiand, Russell Springs, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Six great grandchildren

  • Three sisters: Betty Jean Ashbrook, Barbara Ann Herron, and Judith Gail Rayburn

  • One brother: Danny Ray Popplewell, all of Whiteland, IN
