Lula Pearl Smiley age 83 years of Columbia, Ky. passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 4:48amET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will Saturday, May 11, 2013 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Carlie Riggs and Bro. Scott Allen officiating. Interment in Freedom Cemetery, 576 Freedom Church Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after after 4:30pmCT/5:30pmET, Friday, May 10, 2013.



Pallbearers: Paul Smiley, Mark Smiley, Eric Goodman, Robert Goodman,Michael Searns and Howard Foster.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dale Roy, Charlie Roy, Lilburn Roy, Glen Raines, Eddie Arnold, Steve Roy, Orvis Reese and Russell Coomer

She was born on Wednesday, January, 1, 1930 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jim Weaver and Lillie Tucker Roy. She died Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 8 days.

She is survived by her husbandEwing Smiley of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Linda Smiley Goodman and husband Clarke of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Dr. Eugene Smiley and wife Beth of Cincinnati, OH; Jerry Smiley and wife Linda of Parrish, FL

  • One sister: Sarah Elizabeth Roy of Columbia, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Fourteen great grandchildren

  • Special friends: Michael Stearns and Betty Fisher

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive
She was preceded in death by following brothers and sisters: Ray Olie Roy, Raymond M. Roy, Virgil M. Roy, Ruth A. Roy and Eva M. Roy.

She was a member of Freedom Church of God and a house wife
