Kevin Watkins, Russell County, KY (1964-2013)

He was a native of Carlisle, KY and a resident of Russell Springs, KY at the time of his death. He was the optical lab manager at Watkins Vision Center and was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Susanne Jones Watkins, Russell Springs, KY, and his father Gerald Watkins, Carlisle, KY. He leaves one direct living descendant.

Kevin Watkins, 48, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Memorial service for Kevin Watkins will be 10amCT/11amET, Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Dr. Mark Henry and Bro. Rick Mann officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Thursday, May 9, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial in the Carlisle Cemetery, 361 W Main Street, Carlisle, KY, on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

He was born Friday, December 12, 1964 in Carlisle, Nicholas County, KY. He was the son of Gerald Watkins and the late Jane Vice Watkins. He died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 48 years, 4 months, and 26 days.

He was the optical lab manager at Watkins Vision Center and was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Karen Beth Watkins.

He is survived by his wife, Susanne Jones Watkins, Russell Spring, KY and the following:
  • His daughter: Grace Anne Watkins

  • His father: Gerald Watkins, Carlisle, KY

  • His brother: Brian (Anessia) Watkins, Carlisle, KY
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Russell County 4-H Shooting Sports or to the Grace Watkins Educational Fund. Both can be made at the funeral home.
