Cecil Raymond Dickson, Adair County, KY (1942-2013)

He was a member of a highly regarded family with deep roots in Adair, Metcalfe and Barren Counties of South Central KY. He was the son of Carl Dickson, who survives. His wife, Margie R. Keith Dickson, also survives. He leaves 9 direct living descendants. He was a member of Corner Stone Church in Metcalfe County, founder of Gospel Sounds Quartet, a truck driver for Bowling Green Freight in Bowling Green, KY

Cecil Raymond Dickson age 70 years of the Prices Creek Community in Adair County passed away Tuesday April 23, 2013 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Funeral service Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Roger Poynter and Bro. Bobby Neal the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Shirley-Dickson Cemetery, Prices Creek Road. Visitation will be after 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, April 27, 2013.



Cecil Raymond Dickson, Adair County, KY (1942-2013)

He was born on Wednesday, April 29, 1942 in Barren County, KY. He was the son of Carl Dickson and the late Lucille Sexton Dickson of the Prices Creek Community. He died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Greensboro,Guilford County, NC, at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 24 days.

He is survived by his father, Carl Dickson of Columbia, KY; and his wife, Margie R. Keith Dickson of Columbia, KY and the following:
  • Two sons: Jeffrey Keith (Debra) Dickson of Columbia, KY;; and Rodger Lee Dickson of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Kim (Leon) Mathews of Laconia, IN

  • Three sisters: Geneva (Coy) England of Columbia, KY; Judy (Douglas) Spears of Breeding, KY; and Loretta (Elbert) Pennington of Breeding, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Gary (Christina) Mathews, Allison Mathews, Andrew (Rachel) Mathews and Brandon Mathews

  • Two great grandchildren: Raines and Asher Mathews

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a member of Corner Stone Church in Metcalfe County, founder of Gospel Sounds Quartet, a truck driver for Bowling Green Freight in Bowling Green, KY.
