Norma Jean Johnson of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William McCarty and Mable Samples McCarty, was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, February 25, 1944. She died at 12:01amET, Monday, April 1, 2013, in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service is at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Mark Price. Burial will be in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers: Will Glover, Donnie Graves, Charlie Harrison, Daniel Earl Johnson, Jeff Skaggs, and Justin Welch.

Norma Jean Johnson, Taylor County, KY, was the daughter of the late William McCarty and Mable Samples McCarty. She was born in Jefferson County, KY, Friday, February 25, 1944. She died Monday, April 1, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 4 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church. She united in marriage to David Earl Johnson February 11, 1961.

Besides her husband, David Earl Johnson, she is survived by The following:
  • Two sons: Dwayne Earl Johnson and wife, Margie Sue of Somerset, KY; and Anthony Todd Johnson and special friend, Linda Welch of Greensburg, KY

  • One grandson: Daniel Earl Johnson of Somerset, KY

  • One great grandson: Zachary Johnson

  • One sister and one brother: Joyce Gatewood and husband, Wayne of Louisville, KY; and Donald McCarty of Lincoln, Nebraska

  • One nephew: David Wayne Gatewood and wife, Leigh of Louisville, KY

  • One great nephew: Dylan Gatewood of Louisville, KY

  • Several other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jacob Lee Johnson in December, 2012 and one brother, Ralph McCarty.
