Shirley Gooch of Kings Mountain, KY passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was 73.

Funeral services are at 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Sunday March 31, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial is at K.P. Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at the funeral home.



Shirley Gooch, Casey County, KY (1940-2013)


Born Thursday, March 28, 1940 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Ethel Martin Napier. She died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 73 years. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Johnny Wayne Gooch and Frankie Lynn Gooch both of Kings Mountain, KY

  • Two daughters: Pamela Crowley of Kings Mountain, KY; and Tammy Renee Horn of Stanford, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Jessica Luttrell, Jamie Gooch, Jennifer Gooch, Tyler Horn, Jacob Rayborn, Cody Gooch, Jeremi Luttrell and Hayley Crowley

  • Two great grandchildren, Jared and Jayden Murrell

  • Three sisters, Ethel Snow and Faye Rowland, both of Kings Mountain, KY; and Darlene Greer of Middleburg, KY
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, James M. Gooch; two brothers, Orville Napier and Glen "Big Boy" Napier, and sister, Naomi Austin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
