She was a native of Lewis County, KY, and a resident of Greensburg, KY, at the time of her death. She worked for the U.S. Shoe Company in Vanceburg and also in Coldwater, Michigan. She was a member of the Hilltop Tabernacle Church.

Mrs. Roxie A. Stone, age 87 of 111 Riverview Drive, Greensburg, KY, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 6:30amCT.

The funeral will be at 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Thursday, March 21, 2013. Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 2nd Street, Vanceburg, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmET, Wednesday and after 8amET, Thursday at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Killen officiating. Interment will be in the Liles Cemetery, Camp Dix, KY.



Roxie Stone, 87, Green County, KY (1925-2013)

Mrs. Stone was born in Lewis County, KY October 1, 1925 to the late Ace and Margaret Hall Renchen. She died Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 15 days.

She worked for the U.S. Shoe Company in Vanceburg and also in Coldwater, Michigan. She was a member of the Hilltop Tabernacle Church.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Stone, two sons: Jerry Penrod and Mitchell Liles, four brothers: James, Melvin, Buster and Fred Renchen, three sisters: Bell Renchen, Evelyn Fetters and Mary Horsley and a half sister: Nina Hall. She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Ralph Penrod of Greensburg, KY

  • Five sisters: Louise Zornes of Vanceburg, KY; Edith Eulett and Ellen McNally, both of Leesburg, Florida; Dorothy Trapp of Reading, Ohio; and Berthie Stone of Mansfield, OH

  • Several grandchildren and many great grandchildren

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends
