She will be returned to Cumberland County for services and interment.

Juanita Charlene Lewis, age 83 of Louisville, KY, formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Sunday, March 03, 2013 at Jewish Medical Center South, Louisville, KY.

Graveside services will be Thursday, March 07, 2013 at 1pmCT at Grider Memorial Cemetery, Highway 90 W. Burkesville, KY with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. Visitation after 9amCT/10amET, Thursday, March 07, 2013 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY.



Juanita Charlene Lewis, Burkesville, KY (1929-2013)

She was born August 10, 1929 in the Woodburn Community of Warren County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Viola Martinson Chaffin. She died Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

She was a retired employee of General Electric of Louisville, KY, a member of Burkesville Baptist Church, and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lewis, her son, Gearld Wade Lewis, brothers, Earl and Larry Chaffin, sisters, Dolly Woffard, Violet Chaffin, and Evelyn Bunch.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her granddaughter: Renee Charman of Prospect, KY

  • Great grandchildren: Ryan and Kayla Cundiff

  • Sister:Bessie Decker of Bowling Green, KY

  • Brothers: Harold Gene and Dale Chaffin of both of Bowling Green, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
