Edith Popplewell, 94, Wilson Road, Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amCT, Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bobby Conner officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT/6pmET, Friday, March 8, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Square Oak Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.



Edith Popplewell, Wilson Road, Columbia, KY (1918-2013)

She was the daughter of the late Ivy Wilson and Flora Dunbar Wilson. She born October 16, 1918, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY. She died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 21 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Square Oak Separate Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Bruce (Patsy) Wilson, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two nieces: Flory (Jim) Phillips, Avon, IN; and Tami Wilson, Lexington, KY

  • Two nephews: Ted (Julie) Wilson, Huntington, IN; and Chris (Jill) Wilson, Columbia, KY

  • Sisters in law: Mildred Wilson, Russell Springs, KY; and Nellie Wilson, Avon, IN

  • A hot of great nieces and nephews and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hobert Popplewell, and two brothers Kirby and Curtis Wilson.
