He died Friday, March 1, 2013, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 4 days. He was retired from General Motors. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Lois Stephens, Irene Youngblood and four brothers; Getha, Bobby, Ralph, and Billy Stephens. Survivors include the following:
