Ricky Darryl Gadberry age 55 years of Columbia, Ky. passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 7:26amET, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Elbert Hadley officiating. Interment will be in McClister Cemetery, 4138 Fairplay Road, Columbia, KY, in the Fairplay community. Visitation will be after 4pmCT/5pmET, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the funeral home.



Ricky Darryl Gadberry, Adair County, KY (1958-2013)


He was born on Sunday, February 2, 1958 in Summit, Cook County, IL, He was the son of Ethel Mae Gadberry Curry, who survives, and the late Orvel Denver "Dutch" Gadberry. He died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 55 years, 17 days.

He was preceded in death by his father Orvel Denver "Dutch" Gadberry, on March 29, 1975.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Miss Jo) Gadberry of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • His mother Ethel Mae Gadberry Curry of Jamestown, KY

  • One son: Jason Darryl (Brooke) Gadberry of Des Moines, Iowa

  • One brother: Stevie (Debbie) Gadberry of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Judy (J.C.) Mings of Louisville, KY; Donna (Danny) Bailey of Columbia, KY; Pam (Ricky) Prewitt of Burkesville, KY

  • Four grandsons: Jase Alexander Gadberry (Matney), Caden Nathaniel Gadberry, Braxton Dwain Gadberry and Broderick Cole Gadberry

  • His mother in law Joyce Corbin Fair of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of others relatives and friends
Ricky was a logger.
