It's gonna get hit! - Writer had to back up to get out of way

She suggests Eastern Bypass to make it easier for semi's to stay off city streets

Shannon Sexton writes:
In response to "It's gonna get hit" and the traffic situation with semi trucks - I almost "got hit" myself the other evening while sitting in the turning lane, waiting to make a left turn onto E. 80.

I was the first car in the turning lane and a big rig was making a right off E 80, heading toward the Square. All I could see was a trailer heading my way...I put my car in reverse and headed backwards down the street. Luckily the car approaching behind me had not made it quite to my bumper and saw what was about to transpire, or I'm certain I would have been wedged under that flatbed trailer. I don't know what the solution to our problem is, but I'd sure like to see a by-pass wing over on E. 80. - Shannon Sexton
