She was a native of McQueary County, KY and the matriarch of a highly regarded Russell County, KY family. She leaves 10 direct living descendants. Ann Williams was secretary at the Lake Cumberland Area Development, starting as Executive Assistant to Director Pat Bell when the office first opened in Jamestown. She continued with the organization when the headquarters was moved to its present location in Russell Springs, KY

Exie Ann Williams, 69, of Hemlock Drive, Russell Springs, died Tuesday February 5, 2013 at her home.

Funeral service for Exie Ann Williams will be 1pmCT/2pmET, Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Holloway officiating. Burial in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY.



Pallbearers: Gary Smith, Bobby Williams, Don Hedger, Tracy Hopper, Chris Hedger, and Bruce Smith.

She was born Tuesday, March 16, 1943 in McQueary County, KY She was the daughter of Beatrice (King) Smith, Russell Springs, KY, and the late Harley Hue Smith. She died Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at her home in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 20 days. She was secretary at the Area development office.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harley Hue Smith.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three children: Sharon (Tracy) Hopper, Kathy (Don) Hedger, both of Russell Springs, KY, and Bobby Williams, Dunnville, KY

  • Her mother: Beatrice (King) Smith, Russell Springs, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren

  • One sister; Helen Hill, Dunnville, KY

  • Four brothers: Gary H. Smith, Dunnville, KY; Roger Smith, Cave City, KY; and Tracy Smith and Bruce Smith, both of Russell Springs, KY
