Columbia may become just a community of old people

' . . . if we don't get these kids something to do here, all our money will be spent in Russell or Taylor Counties.' - PATTIE McCLISTER

By Pattie McClister
Personal commentary

Ok. We have no movies, no bowling, and now no pool. What are our children's options for having fun in this town?

I have three teen grands. Thank goodness their parents watch over them pretty close.

But if we don't get these kids something to do here, all our money will be spent in Russell or Taylor Counties.

The pools in Russell School (Natatorium) are also way much cheaper than our college's.

When these children get in trouble, they are all over the news.

But if if we have nothing here for kids, we will soon be a community of old people with nothing to do either.

Just my view - and that of a lot of others. - Pattie McClister
