Sherril Gene "Pete" Holtzclaw, 62, of Judy Street, Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services for Sherril "Pete" Holtzclaw will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday,February 4, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Bernard Funeral Home. Burial in the Combest Cemetery in Liberty, KY.

He was born Monday, February 13, 1950 in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late Sylvanus and Flossie Rodgers Holtzclaw. He died Friday, February 1, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 16 days.

He was a retired machinist.

Preceded in death by three brothers; Cecil, David, and Ronald Holtzclaw and two sisters; Eva Hammond and Oneida Ware. Survivors include the following:
  • His wife,: Linda Hopper Holtzclaw

  • One daughter: Shannon Tarter, Liberty, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Hunter and Caleb Tarter

  • Three sisters: Dixie McIntosh, Patty Bolin, both of Liberty, KY; and Arlie Sullivan, Somerset, KY

  • Father in law, Oval Hopper, Dunnville, KY

  • Special nephew: Randy McIntosh, Dunnville, KY
