Mitchell Rodgers, Taylor County, KY (1936-2013)

He was the patriarch of large, respected East Taylor County, KY family. He was the son of the late Ralph Mitchell Rodgers, Sr. and Claudine McCubbin Rodgers. His marriage to Mildred Rodgers endured over over 56 years. He leaves 11 direct living descendants. He professed faith in Christ and attended Liberty Baptist Church. He was a retired construction employee. He was a member of the Elk Horn Masonic Lodge #568 F & AM for many years

Mitchell Rodgers, 76, of Campbellsville, KY died at 9:50amET, Friday, February 1, 2013, in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service is at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Carlis Compton. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, West Main, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 9amCT/10amET, Sunday, at the funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Trey Ball, Jordan Eastridge, Nathan Rodgers, John Norris, John Schulten, and Mike Tarter.

Honorary pallbearers: Dubby Ball, Mike Craig, Daniel Quinn, and Chris White.


Mitchell Rodgers, Taylor County, KY (1936-2013)


Mitchell Rodgers was the son of the late Ralph Mitchell Rodgers, Sr. and Claudine McCubbin Rodgers. He was born in Taylor County, KY, Monday December 21, 1936. He died Friday, February 1, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 11 days.

He professed faith in Christ and attended Liberty Baptist Church.

He was a retired construction employee.

He was a member of the Elk Horn Masonic Lodge #568 F & AM for many years. He united in marriage to Mildred Baumgardner August 25, 1956.

Besides his wife, Mildred Rodgers, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Mike Rodgers and wife, Cindy, Ricky Rodgers and wife, Ann and Carol Caldwell and husband, Tony, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Jenna Schulten and husband, John, LeAnn Eastridge and husband, Jordan, Nathan Rodgers, Raven Norris and husband, John and Haley Rodgers

  • Three great grandchildren: Jack Schulten, Olivia Schulten and Finn Eastridge

  • Two brothers and three sisters: Bobby Rodgers and wife, Donna, Lorena Mann and husband, Gordon, Margaret Sapp of Campbellsville, KY; Eva Skaggs and husband, Ham of Russell Springs, KY; and Jimmy Rodgers and wife, Debbie of Leitchfield, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Rodgers June 4, 1999.
