Gary Wayne Schillings, age 60 years, of Columbia, KY passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 3:01pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Teresa Williams officiating. Cremation will take place. Visiting is after 10amCT/11amET, on Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Gary Wayne Schillings, Adair Co., KY (1952-2013)


He was born Thursday, March 6, 1952 in Charleston, Kanawha County, WV. He was the son of the late Ben and Gladys Christine Davidson Shillings. He died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 60 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Shillings.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four children: Melissa Shillings of Columbia, KY; Kim Shillings of Indianapolis, IN; Becky Shillings of Indianpolis, IN; and Danny Shillings of Indianapolis, IN

  • Four brothers: Leonard Shillings of Plainfield, IN; Roy Shillings of Trenton, New Jersey; Gene Shillings of Indianapolis, IN; and Charlie Shillings of Indianapolis, IN
  • Three sisters: Ruth Bridges , Ella Gerholdt and Joyce Lawrence all of Indianapolis, IN

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren

  • His longtime companion: Lisa Spoon of Columbia, KY
Mr. Schillings was a heavy equipment operator of J & B Construction in Columbia, KY for several years.
