Lucille Wright, Green County, KY (1916-2013)

She was the matriarch of a highly regarded, large South Green County, KY, family. She was the widow of George William "Willie" Wright. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, and was a homemaker and farmer.

Mrs. Lucille Wright of Louisville, KY, a native of Green County, KY, departed this life on Friday, January 4, 2013 at her daughter's home in Louisville. She was 96 years of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Wright will be conducted at 11amCT/12pm noon CT, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Dewayne Southwood will be officiating. Visitation is requested after 9amCT/10amET, Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.



Lucille Wright, Green County, KY (1916-2013)

Mrs. Lucille Wright was the daughter of the late Henry Norman Sweeney and Ada Margarette Stearman Sweeney. She was born on Saturday, May 31, 1916 in Green County, KY; and departed this life on Friday, January 4, 2013 at her daughter's home in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was 96 years, 6 months, and 4 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, and was a homemaker and farmer.

She united in marriage to George William "Willie" Wright in 1955 who preceded her in death on January 20, 1990. Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter: Margarette J. Perkins of Louisville, KY

  • A daughter in law: Jean Peppers of Tennessee

  • Step children and their spouses: Shively Wright, Fred and Eunice Wright, C-Wood and Allyne Wright all of Campbellsville, KY; Peggy and Eudell Montgomery, Nancy Sue Newton, Judy and Eugene Reynolds all of Greensburg, KY; Kay and Wayne Jessie of Manitou, KY; and Jerry Dale and Jeanie Wright of Bowling Green, KY

  • Also surviving are her many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren for a total of 52

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wright is also preceded in death by a son, Jesse Carlton Peppers; a sister, Ilene McCubbin; and a step daughter, Dorothy Judd.

Memorials are suggested to the Galilean Children's Home Ministries, P.O. Box 880, Liberty, Kentucky 42539, or they can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements. Phone 270-932-4271.
