George Lewis Grider passed away Wednesday January 2, 2013 at his home in Casey County, KY. He was 71.

Funeral services are at 12pmCT/1pmET, Sunday January 6, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Johnnie Maupin officiating. Burial will be at Casey County Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 6pmCT/7pmET.

He was born Wednesday, March 12, 1941 in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late George and Ruth Douglas Grider. He died Wednesday, January 2, 2013. He died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in Casey County, KY, at the age of 71 years. 9 months, and 21 days.

He was a retired diesel mechanic and was a member of the Clarksville Lodge # 127.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary Cochran Grider of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Sons: Michael Grider of Pataskala, Ohio and Steven Grider of New Richmond, Ohio

  • Daughters: Cathy Dorst of Liberty and Vina Jones of Morrow, Ohio

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Five great grandchildren

  • Brother: Floyd Grider of Liberty, KY

  • Sisters: Roberta Wells of Oklahoma, Beulah York of Stamping Ground, KY, Lucy Watson of New Castle, KY and Margie Buis of Yosemite, KY
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George Brent Grider; brothers, Elvin Kenneth Grider, Jessie Grider and Harlis Grider; and sister, Lula Mae Grider. Send a condolence to the family of George L. Grider
