Kyle Edward Ballard, age 76, of Tompkinsville, formerly of Summer Shade, died December 24, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at the funeral home.



He was a farmer and a son of the late Radford and Sally Fansler Ballard.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four daughters: Christina Ballard of Edmonton, KY; Sinda Anderson and Karen Bartley both of Summer Shade, KY; and Becky (Davis ) Hurt of Glasgow, KY

  • Three sons: Jason ( Jesssica) Ballard of Gamaliel, KY; Ricky ( Debbie ) Ballard of Summer Shade, KY; and Duane ( Kim ) Ballard of Dayton, OH

  • Two sisters: Ruby Hendershott of Chicago, IL; and Helen Miller of Alexandria,KY

  • One brother, Kenneth Ballard of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Ballard and several sisters and brothers. Send a condolence to th efamily of Kyle Edward Ballard McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, in charge of arrangements.
