Dorothy Chansler passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at her home in Yosemite, KY. She was 80.

Funeral services are 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Saturday December 22, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Gale Durham officiating. Burial is at South Fork Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday at the funeral home from 8:30amCT/9:30amET, until funeral service.

She was born Saturday, November 12, 1932 in Casey County, KY. she was the daughter of the late John and Marbell Byrd Shell. She died Friday, December 21, 2012, in Yosemite, Casey County, KY, at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 9 days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • Sons: Michael Chansler of Jacksonville, Florida, Gary Chansler of Nashville, TN, Carl Chansler of Yosemite, KY; and Kenny Chansler of Richmond< KY

  • Daughters: Priscilla Bamba of Virginia and Jennie Childers of Yosemite, KY

  • Seventeen grandchildren

  • Five great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Conner; brothers, William , Burt and Dallas Shell; and sisters, Lillie Young, Carrie Mullenex, Ella Young, Ida Shell and Nancy Young.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
