Gladys Paxton, 80, Adair County, KY (1932-2012)

She was a highly respected Columbia Business leader. She was owner of the Adair Florist in Columbia, KY, with her husband, the late Frank Paxton, for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of the Columbia United Methodist Church. At the time of her death she was living in retirement in Florida.

Gladys Paxton, age 80 years of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Florida Waterman Hospital in Tavares, Florida, after an illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 2pmCT/3pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home Clergy, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Rev. Richard Lowe and Rev. Neil Janes officiating. Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia. The family requests visitation after 2pmCT/3pmET Monday, December 10, 2012, at the funeral home.



Gladys Paxton, 80, Adair County, KY (1932-2012)

She was born Thursday, January 14, 1932 in Columbia, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Elzora Willis Garrison. She died Thursday, December 6, 2012, in Tavares, Lake County, Florida, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

She was owner of the Adair Florist in Columbia, KY for over 25 years and a longtime member of the Columbia United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Paxtons on June 19, 2005 and by two half sisters Ruby York and Doris Eby.

She is survived by the following:
  • One sister: Janice Bertram and husband George of Hodgenville, KY

  • Two nephews: Bryan Bertram of Hodgenville, KY and Dale York of New Castle, IN

  • One niece: Connie Whitlock of Indianapolis, IN
