Edwin S. Nolt, Casey County, KY (1944-2012)

He was a native of Pennsylvania and was highly respected member of the South Fork Community and a member of the Old Order Mennonite Church. Mr. Nolt was the former owner of Nolt's Bulk Foods and was a carpenter He played a major role the economic development of the South Fork Creek area as a destination point for travellers from all over the U.S. - known for its truck gardens, picturesque farms, mercantile businesses, and skilled crafts producer. His store, Nolt's Foods, was the focal point of the community. Survivers include his dear wife, Mabel Stauffer Nolt, and his direct living descendants, two daughters, all of Liberty, KY

Edwin S. Nolt, of Liberty, KY, passed away on his birthday, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at his home. He was 68.

Funeral services will be at 9:30amET/8:30amCT, Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Cedar Hill Mennonite Church, Liberty, Casey County, KY. Visitation will be held from 2pm-4pmET/1pm-3pmCT and 6pm-8pmET/5pm-7pmCT, Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the Nolt home at 3675 South Fork Ridge Road in Liberty, KY. Burial will take place in New Haven Cemetery in Spencer, TN.



Edwin S. Nolt, Casey County, KY (1944-2012)

He was born Monday, November 20, 1944, in West Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA. He was a son of the late Titus H. and the late Lena H. Shirk Nolt. He died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, on his birthday, at the the age of 68 years.

He was a member of the Old Order Mennonite Church. Mr. Nolt was the former owner of Nolt's Bulk Foods and was a carpenter.

Survivors include his dear wife, Mabel Stauffer Nolt of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Norma Nolt and Lena Mae Nolt, both of Liberty, KY

  • Four brothers: Earl S. married to Alta (Weaver) Nolt of Lewistown, PA; Melvin S. Nolt of East Earl, PA, Elam S. married to Elizabeth (Leid) Nolt of East Earl, PA: and Raymond S. married to Alta (Nolt) Nolt of Shiloh, OH

  • And two sisters: Erma S. married to Ammon Burkholder of Shiloh, OH and Irene S. married to Harvey Zimmerman of East Earl, PA
He was preceded in death by two infant sons; one infant daughter; and one brother, Paul S, Nolt.
