She was a native of Adair County and a member of a large, highly regarded family. She was the widow of R.D. Drake. She leaves 14 direct living descendants. She was a member of Southside Christian Church in Campbellsville, KY

Bernadine Drake, age 71 years a resident of Campbellsville Nursing & Rehab formerly of the Pellyton community in Adair County passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at 7:27pmET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY after an illness.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps- McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Kenny Dotson officiating. Interment will in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation is after 2:30pmCT, Sunday, November 4, 2012.

She was born on Sunday, December 1, 1940 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Eula Mae Grant Pyles. she died Friday, November 2, 2012, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 1 day.

She was the widow of R. D. Drake, who preceded her in death on October 12, 1994

Survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Cindy Craig and husband Eddie of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sons: C. R. Drake and wife Terri of Pellyton; and Darrell Drake of Pellyton, KY

  • Two brothers: Jeffrey Pyles of Greensburg, KY; and Terry Pyles of Texas

  • Four sisters: Patricia Wong of California; Betty Kearney of Campbellsville, KY: Rita Smith and Barbara Flatt of Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Andy Craig, Allan Craig, Ben Drake, Macie Drake, Carla Fennell and Chenoa Ray

  • Five great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother Katie Pyles, Cindy Rowe Lyndall Pyles.

She was a member of Southside Christian Church in Campbellsville, KY.

Expression of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Southside Christian Church youth fund & can be left at the funeral home.
