Mr. Clarence O. "Van" Higgason of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Clarence A. and Theodicia Chaudoin Higgason, was born on April 11, 1936 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his home. He was 76 years, 6 months, and 19 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Van Higgason will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Bro. Darrell Hensley, and Bro. Leslie Jewell will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday, November 3, 2012, until time of the funeral service.

Mr. Clarence O. "Van" Higgason was the son of the late Clarence A. and Theodicia Chaudoin Higgason. He was born Saturday, April 11, 1936 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Summersville, Green County, KY. He was 76 years, 6 months, and 19 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, and was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose Mary Knebel Higgason who survives.

Other survivors include the following:
  • A son and daughter: Aaron Higgason and Melia Garcia both of Summersville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jarred Perkins, Taylor Perkins, Alexa Garcia, and Alysia Garcia all of Summersville, KYM

  • A sister: Mae Stuber of Milltown, KY

  • Brothers in law and sisters in law: John and Donna Knebel of Louisville, KY; Joan Knebel, Ann Knebel and Ed Kornegay all of Maryland; Yvonne Knebell of Indiana; Sister Doris Marie Knebel of Indiana; and Sister Margaret Ann Knebel of Ohio

  • A special friend: Bodhi Nichols of Iowa
  • and a host of other relatives and friends
