She was a native of Marion County, KY, and the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Taylor County, KY, family. She leaves 24 direct living descendants. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Barbara E. Pruyear, 81, of Campbellsville, KY died at 4amCT, Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be at 4pmET/3pmCT, Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Jim Reinhart. Burial will be Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation is 5pm-8pmET/4pm-7pmCT at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Derick Parnell, Garrad Pruyear, Kevin Pruyear, Mike Pruyear, Mike Pruyear, Jr.; and Chad Rakes.

Barbara E. Pruyear was the daughter of the late William Hill and Mary Thompson Hill. She was born Tuesday, September 30, 1931, in Marion County, KY. She died Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Greensburg, Green County, KY at the age of 81 years, 7 days.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and two sons: Deborah Pittman of Campbellsville, KY; Carolyn Rose and husband, Jessy of Corydon, Indiana, Wayne Pruyear and wife, Rosemary of Campbellsville, KY; and Gary Pruyear of Greensburg, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • One sister: Darlene Gootee of Louisville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Mazie Beard, Doris Sebastian and Ray Hill. Send a condolence to the family of Barbara Pruyear
