Raymond Lee Burress, 94, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 4:40pmET, Saturday, September 15, 2012 in Campbellsville.

Funeral services will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. Scott Farrington. Burial will be in Burress Family Cemetery.



Raymond Lee Burress, Campbellsville, KY (1918-2012)


Raymond Lee Burress was the son of the late John Burress and Mary Hazle Burress. He was born in Green County, KY, May 12, 1918. He died Saturday, September 15, 2012 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 3 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of a non-denominational church.

He retired as a partner in Supertone Studio after many years.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He united in marriage to Exie Mae Bishop November 15, 1952.

Besides his wife, Exie Bishop Burress of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • Two brothers in law and one sister in law: Larry Bishop and wife, Brenda, of Versailles, KY; J. R. Bishop and wife, Darlene, of Greensburg, KY; and Inex Bishop Ennis of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Janet Bishop Diamond.
