RAINFALL AMOUNTS AROUND 2 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...ARE EXPECTED FROM LAKE CUMBERLAND INTO THE SOUTHERN BLUEGRASS REGION. The National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, has issued the following forecast for Columbia, KY. this forecast from update at 4:35amCT September 17, 2012
Today - A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 9am. High near 72. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight - Periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 63. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
