Helen (Libby) Lunsford, Louisville, KY (d. Sept. 15, 2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected family. She leaves 27 direct living descendants. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Rat Racers Club and worked at FAMCO in Louisville, KY

Helen "Libby" Elizabeth Lunsford, 83, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 11amET/10amCT, Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from the chapel of Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home, 234 W. Dixie Avenue, Elizabethtown, KY. with Brother Chris Kiger officiating. Burial will follow at 12 noon CT at the Loy Cemetery, 1740 Loy Cemetery Road, Fairplay community Columbia, KY. Visitation will begin at 9 amET, Wednesday.



She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and Rat Racers Club and worked at FAMCO in Louisville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Irene Saling Cook and her former husband, Rudolph Lunsford.

Survivors include:
  • Her children: A son, Russell (Janice) Lunsford of the Fairplay community, Columbia, KY; and Judy Thompson, Dennis (Joyce) Lunsford and Shirley (Leslie) Reesor

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren
