Rollin (Oscar) Sullivan, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. Sept. 7, 2012)

Rollin "Oscar" Sullivan grew up on a farm in Metcalfe County, KY and gained worldwide fame as an entertainer. He was a member of the Grand Ole Opry from 1947 to 1985 as "Lonzo" of "Lonzo and Oscar." He was the last remaining child of Jim and Ethel Sullivan. He was the uncle of Carol Perkins, regular Sunday contributor to ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Rollin "Oscar" Sullivan, a native of Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Greenbrier, Robertson County, Tennessee, died September 7, 2012, in Greenbrier.

The funeral service will be at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 515 Long Hollow Pike, Goodlettsville, Tennesssee at 11amCT, Tuesday, September 11, 2012; internment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville. Visitation will be at the church 2pm-8pmCT, Monday, September 10, 2012.



He is survived by the following:
  • His daughter: Linda (Elwood) Harper
  • Grandchildren: Ginger Farmer, Dana (Tim) Jansen, Bonnie (Dale) Coleman, T.C. (Dana) Penick

  • Six great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth McAdam Sullivan (d. 1959) and Geneva Susby Sullivan.
