Equally notable:She and her late husband William Rollin Buckner were married for 77 years. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a homemaker. Maye Penick Buckner, 105, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY. The funeral services for Maye Penick Buckner will be conducted at 10amCT, Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Dennis Penick will be officiating. Visitation was 5pm-8pm Friday, and is after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service. Maye Penick Buckner, 105, Green County, KY (1907-2012) Maye Penick Buckner , daughter of the late Thomas Shipley Penick and Lena Milby Penick, was born on Sunday, May 19, 1907 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 105 years, 2 months and 20 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a homemaker. She united in marriage to William Rollin Buckner on June 22, 1935 who preceded her in death on May 6, 2011.She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Paul Patrick Penick, Jenny Snyder, Charlie Penick, Mary Elizabeth Bartley, and Elmer "Buck" Penick. Survivors include 15 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements.
