The Adair County Road Department answered a call between 5pm and 6pmCT last night, Monday, July 9, 2012, to clear two large trees which fell on Thompson-Harvey Road, off Greensburg Road near Bethany Baptist Church in the Milltown area of Adair County, which caused damage to a vehicle driven by April Janes and to the Janes residence.

According to Jimmie Cox, April Janes had just returned to her residence located on Thompson-Harvey Road, in Adair County, KY, and was about to exit her vehicle when this large oak tree fell. "The tree fell onto her vehicle and across a power line striking her residence as well. The roof of the Janes residence also suffered damage as did a second vechicle parked at the residence. Thank God that no one was injured or killed. God surely had His hand upon April and was watching over her."Jobe Darnell said his crew, inclulding also John Denton, Tom Brock, Terry Williams, David Harden, and four helpers from the Class D facility, worked about four hours clearing the big trees. "We had two dump trucks with trailers, a chipper, and a trackhoe on the job," he said. "We didn't get done until after 9 o'clock."
