Robert Gadberry (Bob) Gadberry, Adair Co., KY native (1942-2012)

He was a member of a large, respected South Adair County family and a native of Adair County. He lives 21 direct living descendants. He was a long time resident of Hobart, IN, with many, many family members there, now. Robert was a former Mason and the owner of Gadberry's Crane Service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend

Robert "Bob" Gadberry, age 69 of Hobart, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11amET/10amCT with Pastor Lynn Martin officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN. Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 from 2pm-8pmET/1pm-7pmCT, at the funeral home.



He was born July 5, 1942 in Columbia, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late James and Virgie Gadberry. He died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in Hobart, Lake County, Lake County, Indiana, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 29 days.

Robert was a former Mason and the owner of Gadberry's Crane Service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his loving family:
  • His wife: Cheryl Gadberry of Hobart, IN

  • Two sons: Brian Gadberry and Robert E. (Jessica) Gadberry both of Hobart, IN

  • Four daughters: Suzanne (James) England of Hickory Hills, IL, Jamie (Zak) Swelfer of Irvington, KY, Amie (Jon Stolarz) Gadberry of Hobart, IN and Carrie (Chris DeMarco) Gadberry of Chesterton, IN

  • 14 grandchildren: Jennifer (Dave) Tyler, Kathleen England, Alison, Nicholaus, Elizabeth, and Patrick Gadberry, Autumn, Kaylee, Gage, Hayden, and Brooke DeMarco, Katelyn and Angelina Swelfer, and Olivia Stolarz

  • Great granddaughter: Alma Gadberry

  • Sister in law, Sue Gadberry

  • Brother-in-law: J.I. Washington

  • Special friends: Mike, Christina, and Isacc Rocha; and other loving family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Gobel, JB, and Danny Gadberry; three sisters: Nancy Gadberry, Barbara Jean Washington, and Annabelle Gadberry.
