Ruth Garmon, Columbia, KY (1925-2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Adair County, KY family. She leaves 23 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and had professed her faith in Christ at an early age.

Ruth Garmon age 86 years of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:12pm at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY, after several weeks illness.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 6, 2012 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating. Interment in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The family request visiting after 10amCT on Friday, July 6, 2012, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Ruth Garmon, Adair County, KY (1925-2012)

Ruth Garmon, was born December 29, 1925. She was the daughter of the late: Lewis P. and Matra Reynolds Brockman of Adair County, Kentucky. She died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 5 days.

She is survived by her husband: Russell Garmon of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Phillip (Sharon) Garmon of Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters: Joyce Roach of Somerset, KY; Sarah K. (Danny) Hammond of Columbia, KY; Naomi (Doug) Bruce of Columbia, KY.

  • Three brothers: Robert Brockman of Columbia, KY; Davis B. Brockman of Columbia, KY; and Ores Brockman of Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Renee Garmon, Cameron Garmon, Chris Roach, Melissa Bruce,Joshua Bruce, Daniel Hammond

  • 13 great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Wallace Brockman, Paul Houston "Charlie" Brockman and one sister: Edna Brockman.

Mrs. Garmon was a homemaker, she had professed her faith in Christ at an early age.
