Robert D. (Shorty) Vine, Russell Springs, KY (1923-2012)

He was a native of Paducah, KY and was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He leaves 35 direct living descendants; one child preceded him in death. He was a Mason and had served in the U.S. Army

Robert D. (Shorty) Vine 89, West Cumberland Avenue, Jamestown, KY, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his home in Jamestown, KY.

A Celebration of Life for Shorty will be Sunday, May 24, 2012, starting at 12pm noon CT, with Masonic servie at 2pmCT and Memorial Service to follow, at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Leon Simpson officiating. Cremation has been chosen.



Robert D. (Shorty) Vine, Russell Springs, KY (1923-2012)

He was born March 28, 1923, in Paducah, McCracken County, KY. He was the son of the late William Robert Vine and the late Mary N. Patillo Vine. He died Thursday, June 21, 2012, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 24 days.

He had worked as an operator in the construction industry. He was a Mason, and had served in the U.S. Army.

He is survied by his wife, Janice Bell Vine, Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Dennis (Joyce) Vines, Terre Haute, IN; Jerry (Mona) Vines, Terre Haute, IN; and Jeff (Amanda) Brumley, Jamestown, KY

  • Six daughters: Loretta Mancourt, Terre Haute, IN; Brenda (Ron) Shouse, Terre Haute, IN; Patricia Dickerson, Terre Haute, IN; Jacqueline (Jess) Tidd, Terre Haute, IN; Vanessa (Jimmy) Hall) Paducah, KY; and Amanda (Calvin) Overstreet, Jamestown, KY

  • Two sisters: Wilma Mason, Paducah, KY; and Leona (Lowell) Walker, Sharpe, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Vines, and one sister Mary Koebel

The H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 North Main Street, Jamestown, KY, in charge of arrangements.
