Eva Myrtle Stephens, 100, Louisville, KY, formerly of Russell County, KY, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Louisville, KY.

The funeral will be at 2pmCT, Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Carroll Egnew the officiating clergy. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Monday, June 11, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Russell County, KY.



Eva Myrtle Stephens, 100, Russell Co., KY (1911-2012)


She was born Wednesday, August 16, 1911, in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Mary Frances Wilson Edmonds and the late James Addison Edmonds. She died Friday, June 8, 2012, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 100 years, and 9 months, and 23 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Beckham Ridge Separate Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Edith Stephens Bruner, Louisville, KY; Elma Lee Wooldridge, Anderson, IN; and Patricia Holt, Louisville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren

  • One sister: Velma Watkins
She was preceded in death by her husband, Omri Stephens; a son, Jackie ray Stephens; two sisters, Opal Zimmerman and Alma Meadows; and two brothers, Hershel Edmonds, and Bonnie Edmonds.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
