Ricky Lee (Maynard) Hamlett, Gradyville, KY (1956-2012)

Gradyville, KY, will never be the same. A unique personality is gone. Ricky Lee "Maynard" Hamlett, was a beloved member of the community who possessed a keen mind, a unique manner of expression, and uncanny ability to appraise people, character and values. He was a member of a large, highly regarded, old line Gradyville family. His memory will be greatly cherished by all who knew him at the store. -EW

Ricky Lee "Maynard" Hamlett, 56, of the Gradyville community, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 7:45 amCT at his residence.

The funeral service will be Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, with Bro. BobbyWithers officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery, 2700 Jones Chapel Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 1pmCT, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the funeral home.



He was born January 22, 1956, in Louisville, KY. He was the son of late Robert Lee and Flossie Parnell Hamlett and was a farmer.

Survivors include the following:
  • One brother: Barry (Connie) Hamlett of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Wanda (Mike) Hatcher of Columbia, KY

  • Two nieces: Angela Hourigan and Breanna Hatcher

  • Two nephews: Brandon Petty and Aaron McCloud

  • One great-niece and one great-nephew: Cody and Carley Hourigan

  • Many other relatives and a host of friends.
