He was a member of a large, respected family with strong ties in Adair and Russell Counties of Kentucky. He leaves three direct living descendants. He was an employee of Fruit of the Loom and a member of Hayes Chapel United Methodist Church

Billy Dean Helm, 64, Hwy 768 East, Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 10amCT.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Friday, June 1, at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson and Bro. Eddie Wade officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blakey Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.



Billy Dean Helm, Columbia, KY (1947-2012)

He was born August 10, 1947, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Carlus Helm and the late Lorene Pierce Helm. He died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the age of 64 years, 9 months, and 19 days.

He was employed by Fruit of the Loom in Jamestown, KY. He was a member of the Hayes Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Back Helm, Columbia, KY and by the following:
  • A daughter: Jessica Leanne Helm, Columbia, KY

  • A son: Joshua D. Helm and special friend Jessie Downey, Columbia, KY

  • A daughter in law: Jessica Nichole Helm, Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Danny, husband of Treva Treva Helm, Glensfork, KY; and Gary, husband of Pam Helm, Glensfork, KY

  • Two sisters: Linda Blakey, Russelll Prings, KY; and Judy Butler, Glensfork, KY
  • Mother in law: Cecil Garner Back, Columbia, KY

  • One grandson: Kameron Helm
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn Hadley, Jane Ann Upton, and Vickie Jo Helm.

Wilson Funeral Home, 391 Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
