He was a coal miner and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, and a United States Navy veteran Ernest Ramey, 93, Wayne Road, Russell Springs, Ky, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY. The funeral service for Mr. Ramey will be at 10amCT, Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Eddie Wade and Bro. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial wil be in Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 W. Highway 80,, Nancy, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the funeral home. Ernest Ramey, Wayne Road, Russell Co., KY (1919-2012) He was born Thursday, March 27, 1919, in Pike County, KY.. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Phillips Ramey and the late Jeremiah Ramey. He died Sunday, May 27, 2012, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 2 months. He was a coal miner and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, and a United States Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Hurt Ramey; by his late wife, Veronica Hogan Ramey; by two sons, Jimmy and David Ramey, and one sister, two brothers, and several grandchildren.
