Roy Brewster, Edmonton, KY, (d. May 11, 2012)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe County, KY, family. He leaves 79 direct living descendants. He was a son of the late Andy and Nanny Westmoreland Brewster and was retired from farming and Scotties Construction

Roy Brewster, 84, of Edmonton, KY, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at home.

A private service will be held at a later date. McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, is in charge of arrangements.



He was a son of the late Andy and Nanny Westmoreland Brewster and was retired from farming and Scotties Construction.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Melton Brewster, and the following:
  • Five daughters: Patty Dodson and husband Bob of Indiana; Sue Froedge, Donna Gonzales and husband, Art, Martha Claywell and Carol Bragg and husband, Dennis

  • Five sons: Ronnie Brewster, Jeff Brewster, Tim Brewster and wife, Melinda; Chris Brewster and wife, Becky and Jessie Brewster

  • Two brothers: Bill Brewster and Ray Brewster and wife, Betty

  • Twenty-eight grandchldren

  • Thirty-eight grandchildren

  • Three great, great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews
In addition to hiis parents, he was preceded in death by one sister,Florence Dicken; bros. Thomas, Claude, Albert and Otie Brewster; grandchildren, Logan Taylor Brewster and Andy Lynn Brewster.

Memorials should be made to your local Volunteer Fire Dept.
