G. T. "Tom" Rice, 97, a resident of Summit Manor Health and RehabColumbia, KY passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 4:55amCT atWestlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Lewis Haynes the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 3:30pmCT, Friday, May 4, 2012, at the funeral home.



G.T. (Tom) Rice, Adair County, KY (1914-2012)

He was born Tuesday, October 27, 1914 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Randall and the late Mattie Roberta Russell Rice. He died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 97 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Erma Humphress Rice on September 1, 2002.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: George Rice of Columbia, KY; and Billy Rice and wife Belinda of Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: William Allen Rice, Jo Allison Rice and Michael Rice

  • One step-grandchild: Lindsey Nicole Cundiff

  • Several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends
He was a member of Plum Point Baptist Church and was a Farmer and Bee Keeper.
