Testing begins Monday, April 30, 2012 in Adair Co. School District Parents can help their children by following tips available at Adair County School District website. Links below By Phyllis Curry, Instructional Supervisor News from the Adair County, KY, School District Students in Adair County will begin K-PREP testing Monday, April 30 and will continue through Friday, May 4, 2012. Students in grades 3-8 will all be testing during this five day window, which has been shortened from the ten days allowed last year. However, the shorter testing window means students will be taking more tests each day and be engaged both mornings and afternoons, whereas in the past testing was limited to mostly morning sessions. High school students will be taking state mandated End-of-Course exams and On-Demand K-PREP writing tests from April 30-May 10. During this same time period, high school students will also be taking AP exams and classroom End-of-Course assessments. In addition, second grade students will be taking GRADE (reading) and GMADE (math) assessments next week, with their scores to be publicly reported in the fall. Students are encouraged to be on time, get plenty of rest, and have a healthy breakfast as they prepare to "show what they know." Parents may learn more about the tests their students will be taking by accessing the Adair County School District website and clicking on the Parents link. The "Parent Guide to Student Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is the last item on the drop-down list. - Phyllis Curry This story was posted on 2012-04-25 18:56:56
