Odford Reese, Jr., Russell Springs, KY (1938-2012)

He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a member of a highly regarded family, He was of the Baptist faith, a retired Park Ranger with 21 and 1/5 years, operated Charter Guide service Big "O" Fish for 40 years and had served his country in the U. S. Army.

Odford Reese, Jr. also known as Colonel O. Reese age 74 years of Russell Springs, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at 1amCT at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Funeral service Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2pmCT. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Richard Morgan the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with full military honors by local VFW Post 6097. Visitation after 4pmCT, Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Odford Reese, Sr. and Ethel Montgomery Reese of Adair County, KY, He was born Wednesday, April 6, 1938 in Adair County, KY, and died Friday, April 20, 2012, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 74 years, 14 days.He is survived by his wife Phyllis L. Montgomery Reese of Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Anthony Reece and wife Tammy of Columbia, KY and Todd Reese and wife Allyson of Radcliff, KY

  • One daughter: Tina Bray and fiance' Marvin Gentry of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Mary Rosaline Sexton and husband James Howard of Edmonton, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Hailey McBeath, Tristen Reece, Screna Alvarez, Andrew Alvarez, Nicholas Bray, Makayla Bray, Gerad Gentry and Levi Burton

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was of the Baptist faith, a retired Park Ranger with 21 and 1/5 years, operated Charter Guide service Big "O" Fish for 40 years and had served his country in the U. S. Army.
