James Dell London, Metcalfe Co., KY (1947-2012)

Mr. London had made a profession of faith in Christ and was attending the Coral Hill Baptist Church in Glasgow. He had retired from the Dana Corporation in Glasgow. His greatest joys were his family, working outside with his hands and being a cut up around all who knew him. He was also a United States Army veteran.

James Dell "J. D." London, 65, of Cave Ridge, near Edmonton, KY, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his home. .

The funeral service will be conducted at 11amCT, on Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with Rev. Earlene Branstetter, Rev. Brad Atwell and Rev. Ray Woodie officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowles Cemetery in Center, Metcalfe County, KY. Visitation will be 3pm-8pmCT, Sunday, April 15, 2012, and after 7amCT, Monday at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Jerry Polson, Danny Conrad, Joe Sturgeon, Dave Smith, Greg Jaggers, Darrell Miller, Bobby Turner, and Arnold Hanes

James Dell "J. D." London, 65, of Cave Ridge, near Edmonton, KY, was born Wednesday, February 26, 1947 in Metcalfe County., KY. He was the son of the late O'Dell and Bernice Bastin London. He passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his home, in Cave Ridge, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 1 months, and 17 days.

Mr. London had made a profession of faith in Christ and was attending the Coral Hill Baptist Church in Glasgow. He had retired from the Dana Corporation in Glasgow. His greatest joys were his family, working outside with his hands and being a cut up around all who knew him. He was also a United States Army veteran.

He was united in marriage to Betty Jeffries London on November 21, 1975 who passed away on February 4, 2011. He also was preceded in death by an infant brother.

He is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Jamie Hines (husband, Ricky) of Magnolia, KY; and Amy Ferguson (husband, Chad) of Greensburg, KY

  • One son: Ralph O'Dell London of Louisville, KY

  • Two brothers: Mike London (wife, Carolyn) of Edmonton, KY; and Tommy London (wife, Janet) of Center, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Tristen Hines, Savannah Hines (fiance, Brandon Clemons) and Spencer Hines and many other relatives and friends
He is further survived by his faithful companion and guard dog, Dip.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangemnets.
