Roxie Faye Walters, Greensburg, KY (1934-2012)

She was a member of a large, respected Green County, KY family and a native of Cumberland County, KY. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Sunny Hill Church of Christ. She was a retired Supervisor for the Edmonton Manufacturing Company, and did seamstress work.

Mrs. Roxie Faye Walters of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Roxie Faye Walters will be conducted at 11amCT, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with entombment to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum located in the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Rod Walley will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Homem 206 S. Main Street, and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service.

Mrs. Roxie Faye Walters of Greensburg, KY, was the daughter of the late Miley Long and Margaret Willis Long. She was born on October 2, 1934 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 77 years, 5 months, and 29 days of age.



She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Granville Walters having united in marriage on June 14, 1969.Other survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Becky Landis of Greensburg, KY; and Karen Hall of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Four sons and daughters in law: Ronnie and Debbie Foley of Summersville, KY; Greg and Wendy Foley of Lexington, KY; Joe and Susan Walters of Campbellsville, KY; Mike and Bella Walters of South Carolina

  • Seven grandchildren: Michael Landis of Tennessee, Jeff Landis of Greensburg, KY; Brandie Foley of Bowling Green, KY; Taylor Foley, Samuel Foley both of Lexington, KY; and Jay Travis and Ashley Travis of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Mia Landis, Abbey Landis both of Greensburg,KY; Nichole Young of Bowling Green, KY; and Laton Duncan of Elizbethtown, KY

  • Three step grandchildren: Krystal Colon, Brittany Tobin, and Tiffany Tobin all of South Carolina

  • Two brothers and sisters in law: Charlie and Billie Long of Stanton, and Jerry and Wanda Long of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Walters was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Albert and Mattie Long; and a grandson: Ralph Walters. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Foundation or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
