David Thompson, Nancy, KY (1955-2012)

He was a member of a large, highly respected family with many relatives in Adair and other parts of South Central Kentucky and out of state. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, was a journeyman plumber for Epperson Electrical Heating and Plumbing for ten years, member of the Somerset Lodge # 111, Oleika Shrine Temple in Lexington, KY and York Rite of Knights Templar; Past President of Lake Cumberland Shrine Club in Somerset, KY; and Past President of Mini Monster Club Lake Cumberland Shrine. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan and NASCAR Racing fan

David Thompson, age 57 years of Nancy, KY passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY after several years illness with cancer.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 19, 2012 at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Bobby Withers the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the New Friendship United Baptist Church Cemetery in Russell Co. KY. The family requests visitation after 2:30pmCT/3:30pmCT, Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Masonic funeral rites will be conferred on Sunday evening, March 18, 2012, at 5pmCT/6pmCT,at the funeral home.



David Thompson, Nancy, KY (1955-2012)

He was born Sunday, February 6, 1955 in Romulus, Wayne County, Michigan the son of the late: Robert Thompson. He died Friday, March 16, 2012, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 57 years, 1 month, and 10 days.

He is survived by his mother Betty Davis Thompson of Nancy, KY andby his wife Vickie Withers Thompson of Nancy, KY, and the following:
  • One son: David Thompson of Sarasota, Florida

  • One daughter: Tiffany Cope of Green Mountain, North Carolina

  • One step son: Eddie Paul of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • His mother in law: Ramona Lane of Columbia, KY

  • Brothers and sisters in law: Jeralyn and Pam Spires, Mike Withers, Michelle and Tony Maldonado
He was preceded in death by a brother: Michael Thompson and one grandchild.
