Betty J. Williams, Clementsville, KY (1932-2012)

She was an active member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Clementsville, KY. Known as Mrs. Betty to many, she was a former preschool educator and administrator in Head Start. She was active in her church and community and enjoyed working her polling precinct during election time. She loved her family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed.

Betty J. Williams, age 79, of Clementsville, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Funeral mass will be at 11amET/10amCT, Friday, March 9, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 5075 S KY 551, , Clementsville, KY with Rev. Patrick Dolan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, Thursday, March 8, 2012, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with prayer services at 8:30pmET/7:30pmCT.



Chris King, Bobby Williams, Michael King, Larry Long, Clay Ellison, and Brandon Gould will serve as pallbearers. Sami Williams, Beth Long, Sarah Luttrell, and Kelli Gould will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born Sunday, June 12, 1932, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, OH She was a daughter of the late Hobert and Mallie Wethington Montgomery. She died Monday, March 5, 2012, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 23 days.

She was an active member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church. Known as Mrs. Betty to many, she was a former preschool educator and administrator in Head Start. She was active in her church and community and enjoyed working her polling precinct during election time. She loved her family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include the following:
  • Daughters, Cynthia Luttrell of Hustonville, KY; Bonnie (Kevin) King of Liberty, KY; and Amy (Johnnie) Warner of Liberty, KY

  • Son: Kim (Carol) Williams of Liberty, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Sarah Luttrell, Chris and Michael King, Sami and Bobby Williams, Kelli Warner Gould, and Beth Ellison Long

  • Eight great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Wilma (Bill) Rakes and Trina Patton

  • Three brothers: Bob (Donna) Montgomery, Ted Montgomery, and David Montgomery

  • Son in law, Clay Ellison of Middleburg, KY
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who passed away January 13, 2012, S.L. Williams, Jr.; daughter, Carolyn "Shorty" Ellison; son in law, Steve Luttrell; and sisters, Margaret Coulter and Carol Foster.
